Copperlode Swim Classic
WHY CHOOSE THIS SWIM?
The Copperlode Swim Classic is a unique open water swim located at Lake Morris in the Lamb Range region of Cairns, North Queensland. The dam was built in 1976 and hence the swim distance available is 1976m. Organised by the Cairns Mudcrabs Masters Swimming Club, this is a fantastic event and a great opportunity to swim in a beautiful open water setting.
WHAT DISTANCES ARE AVAILABLE?
- 1.976 km ( cut off time 1 hour)
Entry to the swim is via a ballot entry system that will close on October 8th at 5pm. Entrants do not need to be a Masters Swimming Australia member but they do need to be a competent swimmer and aged over 18 years. If you are interested in entering, you should press REGISTER at the top of this page and register your details. No payment will be taken at this stage of the process.
30 successful swimmers will be drawn from the ballot on October 9th at the Woree Pool at 7.30pm. All registrants are welcome to attend the draw and successful swimmers will be notified by email on October 10th.
To accept the ballot and confirm your place in the swim, payment must be made directly to Cairns Mudcrabs Masters Swimming Club by October 16th.
There will be no on-the day registration for this event.

WHAT IS THE COURSES?
- A triangular course that starts and finishes
(Organisers may be forced to change the course if conditions are affected by unforeseen circumstances – ie adverse weather)
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?
- 18 years
Results will be published here by November 21st.
NO wetsuits, swim aids or sunscreen are allowed.
- Male and Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
- All swimmers will receive a goody pack.
